YOUNG JEEZY Spreads Christmas Cheer To the Hood!!!

Photobucket

It’s this time of year when people tend to reflect over the year and realize how Blessed we are. Looking back on his Blessings, Young Jeezy knows how important it is to give back & pay it forward. He chooses to do it through his Non-Profit foundation called *Street Dreamz*. If you look at these pics you’ll see that the kids look familiar. You’re right, these are the same kids you saw at the Thanksgiving event.

Along with being a Blessing and making sure these kids have a great Holiday season he’s also giving the gift that will truly make a difference, being a mentor to these kids. So even after the Holiday season is over he intends to stay involved with them and make sure these kids continue to travel the right path. Last night The event took place at Justin’s Restaurant where he shut the restaurant down to have a private party for the kids.

Everyone ate good then burned off the food in a dance contest. Then they all received presents. But for the Snowman, the grind just doesn’t stop as South, Ga is all abuzz as he’s preparing to shut down a gym, fill it with toys and again make sure those that have not, have this Holiday…

Boobe- Breaking the Mold featured on 101 distrabutionn Web Site

Photobucket

Washington DC has long been known as a political playground; a city where senators and congressman are celebrities, and suits and ties are commonplace. Not surprisingly, it hasn't exactly been known as a home for hip-hop.

DC rapper Boobe explains his hometown's music scene saying "it's really a gogo circuit, but we're trying to break that mold. We stay away from making the gogo music and we just push the straight hip-hop."

For Boobe, "straight hip-hop" involves a distinct style people say is reminiscent of Young Jeezy and Rick Ross. "I tell reality, whether it's in story form, or I'm just talking to ‘em."

So far reality has been working well for Boobe, who has a street album out hosted by DJ Cannon titled When Money Talk People Listen, and a video for the single "Can't Deal Without the Money" that's already garnered over half a million views on YouTube. While it's clear to many around him that Boobe is on the verge of doing something great, he'll be the first to say he still has a lot of hard work to do in order to make it happen. Hard work he's more than willing to put in.

"Once I'm pursuing something, I gotta keep doing it till it's done," he says passionately, adding that he feels his near decade on the come up has been like his own personal version of college. "It's been a learning experience," he explains, "because every year when I thought I was close to actually doing something I'd learn more stuff and be like, ‘OK, let me put all this together and really be right'."

Boobe's passion and dedication isn't limited to just his music. A car enthusiast, Boobe has two totally customized 1974 Cadillac Coupe DeVilles, both of which he spent a considerable amount of time working on. First there's his pride and joy, his "Redskins" Coupe DeVille. "The whole inside looks like jerseys, but it's leather and it's tan stitched. When you look at it you're like, ‘Damn, it really looks like a John Rigging's jersey,' or Doug Williams, or Joe Theisman. It's serious."

So serious the emcee took two full years to complete it. Boobe's other customized ride is done up in a special blue paint. "It really ain't have a name for it, so I was like OK, this is Boobe blue. I named it my own color. It's nice. When it's dirty it's still glowing, like it got its own little aura."

Boobie also has his own little aura around him right now, and it's a good one. "A lot of rappers from here get hated on coming up," he explains, "but I've been getting a lot of love with what I've been doing." What Boobe's been doing has been a lot more than just rapping; he's also the CEO of Oy Boyz Records.

The phrase Oy Boyz may conjure up images of some kind of Jewish gang, but according to Boobe its origins actually lie in his crew's want to be unique. "A lot of rappers say yo, but we never really got into the yo, so one day we were like we're the only people who don't say yo, we're like the opposite of it, we're oy, we're the Oy Boyz. It was fun and at the shows we'd say it and the crowd would throw it right back to us, the reaction was crazy, so it was something that stuck with us."

Something else that's stuck with Boobe throughout the years is his name. "You already know a name like that, your mother gotta give you that," he says with a laugh. "As I started rappin I had to just go with the name that most of the people already know me by, so when they hear Boobe got a CD out, they know who it is."

Judging by his rapidly escalating popularity, there are a lot of people both in Washington DC, and the rest of the country, spreading the news that "Boobe got a CD out."

My thoughts :

To me its about integrity big moves and momentum DMV we can do the same as well we need to understand that none of us have millions of dollars so we have to pull our resources together to bring that proper picture to the screen because in this world people engage off of what they see. So if you are up to network with me from producers to photographers to video directors holla I'm here hit me up anytime lets keep our city alive and the movement moving...

Jay-Z Covers October 2009 Issue Of XXL Magazine

XXL’s October issue includes stories on The Making of The Blueprint, the current state of lyricism in hip-hop, Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, and more. The mag hits newsstands September 15.

HIS STANDING IN THE GAME:

“But when I say I’m the best, I don’t say that outta my ass. I say that with all my stats behind me. I put that against anybody. I mean anybody. I really believe that… I believe in a lot of things.
I believe that ‘SportsCenter’ is the best thing on TV. I shouldn’t have to prove it. But I do have these stats to prove it. I’m talking about real run. I’m not talking about years off. I’m talking about straight—boom, boom, boom—back to back. We’re not talking about heritage acts either. We’re not talking about respect what I’ve done. I’m talking No. 1 [albums] 10 times. The Beatles is the only one [to have more
No. 1 albums]. They got 19, and if I get a surge of creativity, I could make nine albums next year.”

CRITICISM OF “D.O.A.”:

“I’m not hating on young people. Like, when people say that, I’m like, What are you talking about? It’s just stupid. I’m not hating on young people… I’m not Bill Russell, [saying] Michael Jordan ain’t shit. I’m saying Lil Wayne and Kanye are like LeBron and Kobe. My job as someone at the forefront of the game is to leave it in a better position than when I came in. Same way that Russell [Simmons] left it to me. ’Cause this thing saved my life. Literally. So I have a responsibility to it karmically. And after that it’s on you. I did my part. I made ‘D.O.A.’ I said it. I made the statement. I made the push. Here, y’all take it from here.”

HIS LEGACY AS FORMER DEF JAM RECORDS PRESIDENT:

“So if you ask me to grade my performance as the president, I’d say A-plus. No one can bat a 100. It’s impossible. I mean, everyone is looking at my shit. But if we really looked under the hood [of] every single [record exec] and the acts they put out in that time, I’d be comparable to anyone.”

Cash Money Rapper Brisco Gets Car & Chain Robbed At A Barber Shop! (Pistol Whipped & Everything

7 News reports "Miami Police have released surveillance video of four armed men storming into a barber shop and attacking a local entertainer before robbing him. Police said four black males between the ages of 18 and 25 years old invaded a barber shop on July 29 where Opa-Locka rapper, "Brisco", was getting his hair cut. The armed subjects ordered the employees and customers to the floor inside the shop located at 6301 Northwest Sixth Avenue. Article ImageOne of the men pistol-whipped "Brisco" and robbed him of his gold chain, watch, money and his sport utility vehicle. "There was a local rapper who had just left the photoshoot. He went to a barber shop to get his hair cut. They took a little bit more off the top then expected," said Miami Police Officer Jeffery Giordano. "This robbery was off the chain. Four men entered the store, guns drawn, firing shots, luckily no one was hurt, robbing each individual that was in the barber shop. For a rapper to have his bling stolen, they might have well stolen that man's heart. They took his car also. He had a Range Rover. The vehicle was recovered in another location."

Slaughterhouse Push 18K CDs in First Week, Joe Budden HUGE FAILURE on relying on the internet for sales.

Despite a huge, loyal fanbase and intense presence on the Internet, lyrical supergroup Slaughterhouse failed to live up to their HitsDailyDouble projections on their Billboard 200 debut.

Last week, the industry website estimated that the group, consisting of Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Royce Da 5’9”, would sell between 23 and 25K CDs in its first week on the shelves. On the contrary, the crew’s self-titled disc ended up selling 18, 000 units, securing a no. 26 debut according to the Nielsen SoundScan.

At the top of the charts for the 10th week in a row is the Black Eyed Peas’s The E.N.D. Notching up one spot to no. 3 this go-round the Peas bagged up another 45,300 discs this week, making their overall sales figure stand at 917,400.

Sliding down six more spots this week to no. 16 is Brooklyn MC Fabolous. Fans of the Def Jam rapper picked up 23,700 copies of his latest album, Loso’s Way, this week— bringing his three week total to 159,600.

Four spots down is rap heavyweight Eminem at no. 20. In its 13th week on the charts Relapse was been scanned 20,600 times— making the Detroit lyricist’s overall tally 1,361,700.

Failing to make it onto The Billboard 200 was New Jersey rep Joe Budden. With little promotion, the self-proclaimed “best rapper on the world wide web”’s new solo set, The Escape Route, sold 1,700 units this week.

On the R&B side, Maxwell sits tight this week at no. 7. The Brooklyn soulster’s latest, Blacksummer’snight, moved 38,000 units, making its total stats 631,100 after six weeks. In his second week on the charts Universal Republic artist K-Jon slid down to the no. 36 spot— selling 13,400 copies of I Get Around. The disc now has a total tally of 47,000.

Next week look for the Black Eyed Peas to continue their dominance on the charts –Elan Mancini

Navy Federal Credit Union denies muslim woman for her wearing scarf!

Muslim Women Pictures, Images and Photos
A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today challenged a "separate but equal" Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) policy that treats customers wearing religious head coverings differently than other customers.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said a Muslim customer at an NFCU branch in California, Md., reported that she was singled out twice by bank officials because of her religiously-mandated head scarf, or hijab.

In February, the Muslim customer, who has been banking with NFCU since 1992, was removed from the waiting line and taken to a back office to complete her transaction. She was reportedly told that she would have to conduct her business in a separate area every time she came to the bank.

On March 7th, the Muslim customer was again asked to step out of line but left the bank after refusing to complete her transaction in a back office.

Last month, Virginia-based NFCU told CAIR that it would remind employees that the bank's new "no hats, hoods and sunglasses" policy does not prohibit Muslim customers or staff from wearing hijabs. The reminder came after a Muslim NFCU customer was denied service at a branch in San Diego, Calif., despite telling bank officials that she wears her head scarf for religious reasons. NFCU offered that Muslim customer a personal apology.

DMV's OWN LUEGAR!!! ((THE NEW D.C.))

LUEGAR

Rapper, Luegar, was born in Harlem, NY. His formative years were spent moving up and down the East Coast with brief stints in Pittsburg, PA, Hartford, CT, and Tampa, FL before settling in Washington, DC. Along the way he picked up the love for music and hip-hop.

While the name Luegar may be new to some, this up and coming hip-hop artist is no rookie in the music game. He's been on the scene since 1998, as half of the duo Vagabondz formed with fellow rapper Haziq Ali. The duo signed a series of deals, the final a multimillion dollar deal with Tommy Boy Records, but with the fickle music industry, nothing panned out. Soon thereafter, the pair formed Organized Rhyme with fellow rapper Tabi Bonney as a family of Washington, DC area independent artists. Determined to make it on their own terms, Organized Rhyme launched a series of underground CD's and DVD's making them not only popular in the DC area, but throughout the East Coast.

Luegar is now poised for a solo project with his mixtape "The New DC", growing a huge buzz in the DC Metro Area. Easily transitioning from club bangers to hard tracks, with street lyrics and hypnotic hooks, Luegar has the kind of versatility that positions him to be at the forefront of the hip-hop game in DC and beyond for years to come.
His single "Weekend Girl" is already a regional hit, gaining regular airplay on local radio stations from DC to Pittsburg, PA. The video for "Weekend Girl", directed by Tabi Bonney, has the bloggers talking and saying that Luegar might be the next big thing out of DC. The video also just been added to rotation on MTV2, MTV Jams, and VH1 Soul. Luegar is now packing area clubs and commanding performances on the near weekly basis. He is destined to make a name for himself this year in DC and beyond.
